I am a fashion designer and writer from Northwest Oregon. In 2011, I moved to Chicago to pursue a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Fashion Design at Columbia College. I was drawn to fashion design because it allows us to alter the way others perceive us and the way we perceive ourselves. My goal as a fashion designer is to create clothing that combines fantasy with practicality. The fabrications and silhouettes I employ in my designs are dreamy and surreal while maintaining wearability. I often create my own textiles by crocheting, dyeing, and embroidering fabric.
For four years, I worked alongside the owner of Chicago beauty store, Mojo Spa, as the assistant accessories designer. In April 2015 I was selected as a finalist in the Chicago Fashion Foundation’s Future of Chicago Design Competition, and had the opportunity to showcase one of my designs in a runway show at the Chicago Cultural Center. I am also an experienced journalist and have been published in Chicago Talks, Second City Style, and Echo Magazine. I currently live in San Jose, CA and am an Assistant Designer of Womens RTW for Sears/Kmart.
